Steve Ray is best known as the adventurous, daring host and creator of the wildly popular FOOTPRINTS OF GOD: The Story of Salvation from Abraham to Augustine film series from Ignatius Press which takes viewers on exciting, rollicking adventures through the Bible. On Friday, March 9th, at 7 p.m., St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Canton, Michigan, will host the world premiere of the latest Footprints of God film starring Steve Ray: ELIJAH & ELISHA: Conscience of the Kingdom.

“Like the eight documentaries before this one, Elijah and Elisha is full of new places, biblical adventure and fun,” said Ray. “What started with the pages of Scripture was fleshed out in the lands where prophets confronted kings and gods did battle for the hearts and minds of Israel.”

ELIJAH & ELISHA brings the viewer up close and personal with these two great prophets. Shunning creature comforts and risking their lives, Elijah and Elisha stood fearlessly against pagan priests and kings who opposed the God of Israel. The Israelites fell into gross idolatry with sensuous fertility cults. With fiery words and powerful miracles, the prophets were the voice of God.

“My wife Janet and I, with our ever-daring and intrepid crew, crossed the lands of the Middle East to bring you a story that covers a thousand years,” added Ray. “The prophets were not always fearless and full of courage but were flesh and blood like the rest of us. But they kept their eyes on the true God of Israel in their explosive confrontations with false gods and heretical kings — all to pave the way for the coming Messiah.”

In this one-hour-and-15-minute film, the viewer will travel with Steve Ray to Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and the Palestinian Territory to follow in Elijah’s and Elisha’s footsteps and experience the prophets’ lives like never before as they witness the miracles that took place and the astounding results that are a part of salvation history.

The film will be followed by light refreshments and the opportunity to meet and talk with Steve Ray as well as be the first to purchase the new Elijah & Elisha DVD and have it autographed by Steve.

Tickets to the premiere are only $5 per person and proceeds will benefit the seminarians at Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit for their Desert Experience in Israel, as well as fundraising to complete the 10th and final film in the Footprints of God series: DOCTORS OF THE CHURCH: Defining the Faith.
