Trivializing Communion

Vatican Insider notes some newsworthy comments from the prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship on the proper manner of receiving Communion: “In an interview with Aci Prensa news agency, the prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, Antonio Cañizares, said it is recommendable for Catholics to receive Communion orally, while kneeling. This is linked to the ‘sense Communion should have, which is adoration and recognition of God.’ Kneeling to take Communion and receiving the host orally, ‘is a sign of adoration which should be brought back. I think Communion should be taken kneeling throughout the entire Church.'”
