About Verónica A. Gutiérrez
Verónica A. Gutiérrez, MFA, PhD, is Director of the Great Books Program en español for The Angelicum Academy. A Latin American historian specializing in the origins of Mexican Catholicism, she spent ten years in the department of History and Political Science at Azusa Pacific University, teaching World History and offering courses exploring the relationships between Franciscans and native peoples in New Spain. With 20 years of experience in university classrooms and nearly a decade of experience as a program director, she has lectured throughout the U.S. and Mexico, and her publications have appeared in English and Spanish. She is currently writing a children's book about San Juan Diego for Ignatius Press's popular Vision Series.
