Blessing same-sex couples a diabolical and sacrilegious act, priest affirms

Mexico City, Mexico, May 11, 2021 / 14:19 pm (CNA).

Fr. Hugo Valdemar, canon penitentiary of the Archdiocese of Mexico, said that the blessing that priests and pastoral workers gave May 10 to homosexual couples in Germany “is a truly sacrilegious act” and a “diabolical act of pride and immorality.”

The blessing of homosexual couples in Germany “is not only an act of indiscipline and rebellion against the pope and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), it is a truly sacrilegious act,” said Valdemar.

Priests and pastoral workers of the Church in Germany blessed homosexual couples in a May 10 event called “Love Wins,” held in more than 100 locations throughout the country with the support of several bishops, including the president of the German Bishops’ Conference, Bishop Georg Bätzing of Limburg.

The event was in open rebellion to the explicit prohibition by the CDF, which said March 15 that the Church hasn’t the power to bless same-sex unions.

The CDF issued a “Responsum ad dubium” replying to the question, “does the Church have the power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex?” The doctrinal congregation answered, “Negative”, explaining its reasoning in an “explanatory note” and accompanying commentary.

Valdemar explained that “persons can always be blessed, even if they are sinners, but that which is in itself a serious sin and offensive to God, such as homosexual acts, cannot be blessed.”

The priest warned that the blessing of homosexual couples “is more than an act of indiscipline, it’s an actual defiance of God and his natural law, a contempt for Sacred Scripture that considers these acts as grave sin and an abomination, and  profound contempt for the perennial teaching of the Church on this grave sin.”

“In short, it is a truly diabolical act of pride and immorality,” the priest said.

Valdemar emphasized that “the Church does not discriminate against people with homosexual tendencies, on the contrary, the Catechism and various ecclesial documents call for deep respect and authentic pastoral charity towards them.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that homosexuals “must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.”

The priest stressed that “what is unacceptable for the Church is the sin of lust, whether between heterosexual or homosexual people. Some ill-intentioned people try to make the Church’s rejection of sin the same as rejecting the sinner, which isn’t true.”

“For the sinner, whatever his sin may be, the doors of mercy will always be open, but the requirement for repentance and conversion will always be there,” he added.

Valdemar stressed that it’s important for Catholics in Latin America to be attentive to this situation in Germany “so as not to allow ourselves to be enveloped by this perverse mentality of gender ideology that is slowly permeating society.”

“In addition to being vigilant, we must call for the unity of the Church, which is undoubtedly at risk because what is happening in Germany is in fact already a lamentable schism,” he concluded.

  1. An action of the Holy Spirit, surely, that when the ongoing “reformation” spirit first seduced Germany in the 16th century (1517…), Church evangelization–at the same time–made its way to the Americas, including a visit by Our Lady of Guadalupe (1531).

So, now we have the schismatic, heretical and anti-natural meltdown in Germany at the same time as we have a voice of fidelity, truth and sanity from the Archdiocese of Mexico.

  2. What are consequences for this open sacrilegious act? The pope seems more concerned about the US bishops discussion on not allowing communion of pro abortion CINO politicians.

    • Good question. I’ve foolishly been waiting for the Vatican to respond to this issue. However, the fact that Fr. Martin is not corrected is proof that this sickness is not only tolerated but tacitly approved. In my own former parish, the pastor published a statement on the website that he absolutely disagrees with the Vatican’s statement that they will not bless homosexual unions and that all are welcome. While I believe that we are to love the sinner, I also believe that we are to hate the sin. I felt like I had been sucker punched. I was tempted to communicate with the priest’s superior but the Holy Spirit told me to leave it alone. The reason the priest was so smug and self-righteous in his demeanor that Sunday was that he already knew there would be no repercussions. I had to talk with my feet and I found a faithful priest in the next town. We have to “be the Church” and continue to be faithful to the Magisterium. I noted that the church I’m now attending is very full of life and people, not like the dullness at the former parish. Additionally, the website has a whole page of Marian devotion. The former church had no such thing and the pastor never mentioned Mary or the rosary the whole time I was there (a little under a year, I had just moved from out of state). The faithful are making a comeback – don’t be dismayed! And the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph, even if we don’t live to see it in our time.

  3. Regarding the German sign that states “Love Wins,” love can have different means. A first mean is agape love which is self-giving love. This type of love does not require marriage or anything like marriage; therefore, the sign didn’t refer to agape.

A second type of love is eros which is a type of desire. We know that eros can prod a person to agape love: it can also prod him to a revenge murder. Inordinate desire is a root of evil.

When the German bishops say that love wins, what exactly are they blessing?

    • If you would look at the photos of these ceremonies and read the explicit remarks of the lesbians and homosexuals taking part in them, you would not have to ask the question.

    • Just as liberty is often used as a euphemism for license, so too is love being increasingly used as a euphemism for lust, by those seeking to validate their intrinsically disordered urges.

  4. So when are the Sodomy worshippers in Germany going to face disciplinary action from the Vatican for their sacrilege?

  5. I have a problem with the term “same-sex unions” and also with what was in the recent past referred to as “same sex marriage”.

First of all, I cannot reconcile mutual masturbation(masturbating partners) as a union.

Secondly, marriage is the complementary union of a man and women physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually meant for the purpose of procreation and mutual support.

Thirdly, there is no such a thing(law) as a right to marry, so I can’t figure out why the pontiff said that “same sex” couples “need to be covered” legally. This makes no sense to me, as any person can transfer assets to another person by setting down a will.

Could somebody please give me some light on these points?

  6. How ironic. A country that thinks of itself as so cultured and sophisticated – with some justification – can repeatedly torment their Continent and the whole world with so much that is destructive of Good.

  7. With the exception of human procreation, there is nothing to the experience of love alien to the dyadic experience of homosexual lovers. They too are visited by ‘sorge’, ‘filia’, ‘eros’, and ‘agape’, the modes of love C.S. Lewis posits as covering the gamut in his classic “The Four Loves”. Human procreation as a couple is not to homosexuals possible, however, to lovingly care, nurture and upbring a child certainly are abilities within their power. More often than not, they exercice them well, no worse than most heterosexuals. Go and see.

There is nothing satanic to love, totally the contrary.
