Pray for Thomas Peters – and follow his recovery process

As many of you may have already heard, Catholic blogger and pro-marriage advocate Thomas Peters was severely injured Tuesday night in a diving accident. His neck is broken and while his family is “cautiously optimistic” about his recovery, he has a very long road ahead of him. Today doctors installed a halo brace and he is expected to begin physical therapy soon.

My family and Thomas’ have been good friends since we were children; his father is canon lawyer Dr. Edward Peters (on his blog, Dr. Peters suggests asking for the intercession of Father Felix Capello, SJ for his son’s recovery). Thom’s original “American Papist” blog and social media efforts were a major part of the Catholic new media explosion, and his work for the National Organization for Marriage has been critical to the defense of marriage and the family in this country.

Please pray for his full and speedy recovery, for his wife of three months, Natalie, and for their families and friends.

You can follow Thomas’ recovery, and find ways to support and help his family, at this website.
