“We condemn in the strongest terms this action and affirm that hate has no place in our country, our city, and our hearts,” the archbishop of Chicago said.
Cardinal Blase Cupich decried the burning of a large cross in Grant Park in Chicago after video of the incident surfaced online.
“Burning crosses, dramatic expressions of hatred designed to terrorize, were once sadly commonplace in our country,” Cupich said in a June 10 statement. “Yesterday, we were reminded that the sickness of spirit they symbolize exists not only in the pages of history but in our present day. Seeing a burning cross in one of Chicago’s most-visited public parks was shocking but not surprising.”
Cupich’s statement comes after video footage circulated online of a large cross being burned along a sidewalk in the Loop at Grant Park.
According to a June 11 community alert from the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the incident took place at 2:38 p.m. on June 9. CPD also released images of the suspect, a shirtless male with a black backpack, fleeing the scene.
CPD confirmed to EWTN the suspect has not yet been apprehended.
“We condemn in the strongest terms this action and affirm that hate has no place in our country, our city, and our hearts,” Cupich said. “We pledge to work with our city’s faith and community leaders to redouble our efforts to share the Gospel message that we are all children of God, made in his image.”

Was the cross burning funded by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Cardinal Cupich???????
When the demand for bigotry exceefs the supply, the SPLC was always ready to fill the need.
Meanwhile, the weekend’s death toll in Chicago is?
Probably not. If it was, he would have either dismissed it or explained it away. That’s the progressive way.
“We condemn in the strongest terms this action and affirm that hate has no place in our country, our city, and our hearts,” the archbishop of Chicago said.”
No doubt, this burning of a large Cross in Grant Park reflects “hate”, but that does not change the fact that Cardinal Cupich, incudes among his list of haters, those who decry the engaging in and promotion of demeaning sexual acts of any nature among any persons, regardless of one’s desires or inclinations, because consenting to engage in demeaning sexual acts of any nature does not change the fact that such acts, regardless of the actors or the actor’s desires/inclination, are physically, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually harmful and thus demeaning, sexually objectify the Human Persons, and deny the Sanctity and Dignity of all Human Persons and are thus, devoid of Love.
How can Cardinal Cupich possibly claim that God’s Universal Call to Holiness, to be chaste in our thoughts, in our words, and in our deeds, and thus be Temples of The Holy Ghost in all our relationships and in all that we experience, be an act of hate?
The Faithful have the right to know how a Cardinal can continue to bully those who believe and affirm Christ’s Teaching on God’s Commandment regarding lust and the sin of adultery, affirming The Sanctity and Dignity of the marital act within The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, which affirms God’s Will that we respect The Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life from the moment of conception, and call that hate speech? How can the cardinal remain in communion with Christ and His One, Holy, Catholic, And Apostolic Church, while denying The Divinity Of The Word Of Perfect Divine Eternal Infinite Love Incarnate and calling an act of Love, desiring Salvation for one’s Beloved, an act of unjust discrimination and hate, when God, The Most Holy Blessed Trinity, In The Unity Of The Holy Ghost, The Spirit Of Perfect Divine, Eternal Infinite Love Between The Father And His Only Begotten Son, Jesus The Christ, Who Proceeds From The Father And His Only Begotten Son, Jesus The Christ, Is The Author Of Love, Of Life, And Of Marriage.
How can those who deny The Divinity of Christ, possibly be fulfilling their Baptismal Promise to remain in Communion with Christ and His Church?
“For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.“
“Hail The Cross, Our Only Hope.”
For those, who like cardinal Cupich, deny The Sanctity and Dignity of the marital act within The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and thus God’s Will that we respect The Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life from the moment of Creation at conception, let us not forget:
Psalm 19:7-9
7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.❤️🙏
Yes indeed. If there’s no problem, make one. From David Harsanyi @ Epoch Times:
“Many people correctly point out that SPLC is merely interested in keeping white supremacist groups operational to justify its existence. White nationalists and identitarian groups have no genuine political power or support, so it makes sense that SPLC and other groups would prop them up for fundraising. The notion that Americans live in a nation of deep-seated systemic and cultural racism is a foundational belief of the American left. Having a bunch of cartoonishly racist groups running around the country not only perpetuates the myth but helps raise money.
But a far more vital objective of the SPLC is destroying the reputations of effective legitimate organizations that are involved in mainstream political debates that have absolutely nothing to do with racism or extremism.
The purpose of the “hate” maps and enemies’ lists compiled by SPLC isn’t to alert Americans about local skinheads, but to associate those skinheads with the American College of Pediatricians, Family Research Council, Ben Carson, Turning Point USA, American Family Association, and Moms for Liberty.
In 2016, for instance, the SPLC “Hate and Extremism” list added Alliance Defending Freedom, a highly effective legal organization that’s won multiple religious freedom cases in front of the Supreme Court. Oftentimes the ADF represents minority clients. Its most high-profile case involved Jack Phillips, the persecuted cake maker from Colorado whose First Amendment rights were stripped by the government. But the group also takes on cases regarding state funding for abortion or the biological males competing in girls’ sports.”
When you get right down to it the SPLC used the same model and methods as protection rackets, but added creating a brand which was used to pummel enemies of the left by fellow travelers in the government media complex.
