Story in the Daily Herald, paper (dated June 5, 2026) in the Chicago Burbs, about the Vatican agreeing to hear an appeal made by the St Hubert Catholic School to prevent its closing by Cardinal Cupich. The story goes on that the Cardinal, through his assistant for Catholic Schools, Betsy Bohlen, has a goal of closing at least 25 more schools in the Chicago diocese. Betsy came from McKinsey Company, with apparently no Catholic Education background.
Kinsey is one of those “consulting firms” that you hire to tell you want you want to hear. Harvard MBAs such as Bohlen are who you hire when you want to be told excrement is fertilizer.
This is from Bohlen’s linked in profile. It so reminds me of the meme going around where on the left it shows a cat with caption “I throw up on rug” and the same cat on the right describing the same thing on the right as it would be on Linkedin: Performed biochemical tests on household fiber durability and assessed household toxicity response systems”.
It’s rather shocking that a lay person (is allowed to ) describes herself as “Chief Operating Officer” involved with “strategic pastoral initiatives”. And honestly, this one is on George, not Cupich, since he hired her.
Wanna bet she’s likely pulling down a cool $500K/year?

Carl Trueman gives us good reason Not to dismiss sexual issues by trivializing them as Pelvic theology. Because to trivialize these issues we trivialize our humanness.

Our body is not simply an appendage to the mind, or soul. It’s an integral, permanent component of our existence. Which is why we have the doctrine of the Resurrection from the dead, when our flesh and blood body will be forever united with the soul.
It’s the reason why John Paul II wrote The Theology of the Body. We glorify God in what we do in accord with our physical nature as ordained by God. We are co-creators with God in the transmission of and birth of life. Heroic virtue is practiced through the body.
Christ added his divine nature to compliment our human nature giving us the perfect physical model for us to imitate.

Very informative article you posted. Thank You

Goodness, God’s first instruction to mankind was related to that part of our bodies. If procreation was that important to Our Creator why wouldn’t His Church make a big deal about it? And about when we misuse/abuse that?

Thanks. Interesting info. I hope Ms. Bohlen is not being paid $500K. Her pastoral initiative is to close schools. Sorry to learn that Cardinal George hired her. Why in the world would he have done that, someone sold him a pile of something, and it was not good. Will add while I give to the my parish and other Catholic Org. , I stop giving to the Chicago Archdiocese, since there is little if any transparency on how the money is spent.
