During last year’s Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Family, held October 5-19 at the Vatican, Catholic World Report posted some four dozen articles, columns, and interviews about the closely scrutinized, often surprising, and sometimes controversial gathering.

CWR is going to bring the same sort of on-site reporting, timely interviews, and incisive analysis during this October’s Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Family, which will take up almost the entire month of October (Oct. 4-25). This Synod is notable in that it marks the 50th anniversary of the Synod of Bishops; more so, because it will continue to address the many vital, challenging, and even contentious questions raised at last year’s assembly about family life, motherhood and fatherhood, divorced and remarried Catholics, and homosexuality.
