A New Age spin on the implosion of female religious orders can be found in this National Catholic Reporter story. The Leadership Conference of Women Religious is contemplating the “fecundity of chaos” at its meeting in Garden Grove, California this week. Keynote speaker Sr. Barbara Reid said the orders are “living in a time of new birth.” Working hard to put the best possible construction on orders that are petering out, she described them as being “in concert with the creative rhythms of our universe.”
